The First Edition covers Region One — New England in full (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut) at ten recommended towns and five to avoid per state, together with the judging framework, the Road Ledger workbook and the four-minute checking routine. The scope is described on the sales page and in the FAQ before you buy.

The book is © 2026 Sam the State Guy. Buying it gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to read it and to print copies for your own use — including printing the Road Ledger page as often as you like. It does not allow you to redistribute the file, resell it, upload it to a file-sharing service, or reproduce substantial parts of it publicly without written permission.
This book is a travel reference and an opinion. Every judgment in it is the author's own view of a place at the time of writing. Prices, hours, seasons, ferry schedules, road closures, permit rules and business ownership all change, and they change faster than any book can — verify before you drive. Appendix B exists for exactly that purpose.
